About Us
Cable is a new full-stack electricity retailer based in Sydney. We deliver "firm" (the same price, 24/7, bespoke to each customer) electricity supply at 20-40% lower cost than incumbents. We achieve this by installing a fully-funded and managed behind-the-meter battery coupled with an advanced technology platform.
Our solution has a structural cost advantage over legacy "TradRetail" system designs. We are the energy company built for the distributed age, and are uniquely positioned to accelerate the re-platforming that is occurring as our energy systems become inherently distributed and decarbonised.
The Cable Fellowship
The Cable Fellowship are paid roles for exceptional university-age individuals who want to do real work at a real company working with 2026 rhythm; not learn yesterday’s habits.
Fellows are embedded across the business and given genuine ownership of projects that matter. You might be running a marketing campaign, analysing energy market data, finessing trading models, supporting our installer operations, or shipping a feature in our product. It depends on where you're strongest and where Cable needs you most.
This is a six-month commitment, at least three days per week (five preferred). We don't lower the bar for Fellows. You'll operate at the same standard as the rest of the team, work directly with the founder, and be accountable for real outcomes. In return, you'll get the kind of experience, mentorship, and exposure that most people don't get until years into their career.
We hope Fellows will grow into long-term key team members at Cable. We will also be happy to see you start your own venture, if that’s your longer-term plan.
What you'll do
Take ownership of meaningful projects across Cable's business: growth, product, operations, analytics, or engineering, depending on your strengths and our needs
Work directly alongside the founder and early team on high-priority problems
Go to the source: we're a bottom-up company that values getting into the lowest-level detail, and we expect the same from Fellows
Ship work that matters. Not busywork, not hypothetical exercises. Real projects with real impact on the business.
Use AI tooling as a core part of how you work. We're an AI-native company and you'll be immersed in it from day one.
About you
Excellence: You have a track record of being exceptional at the things you care about, whether that's academics, sport, a side project, a leadership role, or something else entirely. We're looking for people who set a high bar for themselves and consistently clear it.
Excitement: You're drawn to Cable's mission and the chance to do meaningful work at the ground floor. This isn't a line on your CV. It's a launchpad.
Hunger: You want to learn fast, take on more than feels comfortable, and prove what you're capable of. You have a compounding mindset.
Ownership: When you take something on, you see it through. You don't wait to be told what to do next. You make progress visible and you finish.
AI-native (or AI-curious): You already use AI tools to work smarter, or you're eager to start. We'll meet you where you are, but we need you to be excited about it.
Availability: Minimum 3 days/week, minimum 6-month commitment. We prefer full-time.
Eligibility: currently enrolled, deferred, or dropped out of a degree program. We care about your slope, not your y-intercept.
